ALILA STUDIOS ARTIST RESIDENCY MALAYSIA 2014

Project 9, a2 Gallery, Penang

In 2014 I returned again to Penang, Malaysia, to make new work and exhibit during the George Town Festival. Alila Studios in Penang, were offering an Artist in Residence studio space for 4 months, with a follow up residency exhibition at a2 Gallery, Penang (GTF venue). The artwork is a mixture of Asean and Australian cultural themes derived from the experiences of living and working in new environments. Within all of the work the literal depiction is merely the basis for expressing the metaphorical meanings to life’s situations.
